Marta has over eight years of experience in private and public sector innovations in healthcare, finance, and energy around the world. As a former Social Enterprise Specialist at the World Bank Innovation Labs, Marta was instrumental in designing ~$330M innovation programs across Africa, South Asia, and Europe. She pioneered the first global course on scaling social enterprise innovation and global Human-Centered-Design incubator. Currently, Marta is a dual MBA – MPA candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also is a member of the Harvard Student Council launching the first Harvard Social Innovation Studio.
Marta also founded and incubated several award-winning ventures, including Brickonomics, the 1st LEGO game on economics, and Dignify, a digital work platform for refugees, recently awarded by the Clinton Global Initiative. Currently, she advises several start-ups, bringing together business strategy, Human Centered Design and Behavioral Insights to create and scale effective innovations. Her portfolio includes: a digital product leveraging machine learning to predict HIV and TB patients’ risk levels in South Africa (with a mobile health start-up Dimagi) and a Fin-Tech solution leveraging behavior insights to help young UK citizens save (with BI Ventures).
Marta facilitated dozens of human centered design and behavior science workshops for clients ranging from: the World Bank, and national governments, to OPENIdeo, ReWork and DCDT Summer School of Design. She designed and conducted capacity building programs for over 400 policymakers from 60 countries. She served at the OPENideo DC board. You can find more in the Portfolio and Publications.
